As usual, my disclaimer: Don't ask me where or how to buy. I don't distribute.
To start, I should note that I didn't do this right…when the tutorial says to put the wings on first, DON'T. Instead, do the arms first then the wings. My dragon's wing snapped because I put it on first.
Second note: You will use one piece of elastic to string both arms and the wings. I tried to take clear pictures of this, so if you need more explanation go ahead and comment here.
I haven't been checking emails due to anxiety (I hate dealing with email), so if you have emailed me, I'll get to it eventually, I promise!
Stuff you'll need:
- Possibly new elastic
- wire (I could not have done this without wire)
- Hemostat or chopstick to help hold the elastic
First, take the little neck piece (weird circle thing) and string the elastic through it. Use the s-hook to hold it in place. Take the elastic through the head piece. Pull tight!
Okay so the next step shown here is to put the wings on. Don't do this. Do the arms first, then the wings.
To string the wings, put the little piece that acts like a joint in first, then hook the elastic around the little resin wing.
Next, you're going to put the same piece of elastic through the other two holes:
Repeat for the other side.
Next, string the elastic through the upper body.
Now grab the tail piece. This part is tricky. Put a piece of wire around each loop of elastic. Take the wire and thread each one through one of the leg holes in the tail piece. Your wire will stick out the sides like this:
Now add your upper leg piece, and then add the foot.
Repeat on the other side.
There ya go! A re-strung Aileen Doll Dragon.
Thanks for reading, and happy collecting!
Really helpful as I restrung mine too loosely and didn't have a clue what neck piece was til now :)
ReplyDeleteGlad it could help! ^____^

ReplyDeletehaha np!! ^__^
DeleteWhat size string are you using to restring your Rot?
ReplyDeleteI believe this elastic was around 2 mm or so. I'm going to try a thicker elastic as he's gotten quite floppy since I strung him. It could also be that I just used really bad elastic.
