I have a legit muscular boy as well as a recast muscular boy so I thought I would a comparison between them. I will summarize my thoughts into a few points, give my review, and then close with some comparison pictures.
Our subjects are a legit Vampire Chloe boy, and a recast Karsh boy, Hunter. Hunter is a recast. Both are normal skin.
Summary:
* The recast boy is noticeably lighter in weight than my legit.
*The recast is much shorter than the legit boy. I believe this is because he is a second or third generation recast.
*The joints on the recast, mostly the upper chest joint, are not completely flush.
*The recast boy has no seam lines, whereas the legit boy has some major ones.
*The legit boy's resin is toothier and has more texture than the recast. The recast is smoother to the touch, slightly shiny, and is slightly more yellow than the legit.
*Both boys pose equally well.
*It was difficult to get the heads to swap. The recast head was a bit smaller so I had to force the legit neck mechanism to lock on the recast head.
*It is possible to swap hands. The color match is very close, but the legit hands tend to look a little big on the recast and vice versa. I still think they look good though.
I would not recommend the recast muscle body at all. The doll is decent quality, but the size difference bugs me. It is nice to have some height variance in the crew, and if you choose to order a recast boy, please keep in mind that it will likely have major shrinkage. The doll poses well and has little other issue.
Now onto the pictures! Unless stated, the legit is always on the left.
